The Archaeological Park of Apollonia, a Greek colony with a strong Illyrian component, is a magical place. Its special atmosphere is created by a combination of the unique monuments, archaeology and landscape, difficult to find anywhere in Mediterranean. The ancient city of Apollonia is one of the best known and important classical cities in the country. The site is an important destination for cultural tourism, a gastronomic and landscape attraction, as well a great resource to enhance the local economy. This is a full day trip in this archaeological park and in the afternoon another visit in the monastery of Ardenica is included. The Monastery of Ardenica is located close to the village of Kolonja. It is a Byzantine structure occupying a surface area of about 2,500 m². This monument consists of the Saint
Mary Church, the Saint Triad chapel, the konake, the oil mill, the oven and the stall. In the center is situated the Church of St. Mary, partly built with pumice stones brought from Apollonia.

• Depart from Berat at 8:30 toward Apollonia Archaeological park (around 1,5hr drive) to visit the magnificent park extremely rich in history, as well as a visit in the
  Museum inside the park.
• Lunch can be inside the park and then afterwards travel toward the monastery of Ardenica, where our national hero Skanderbeg got married.
• In the afternoon we depart toward the city of Berat.
